These statues were at the ground/outdoor level of our hotel, which was part of a large plaza. There, you could browse stalls selling jewelry, skincare and clothes.

The morning of our first full day, Laurel had a meeting so I ventured off solo. I stumbled on this traditional Korean teahouse (Hanok Teahouse) in Insadong.

I ordered a combo tea and food platter consisting of ginger tea, jujube tea (the thick, crimson liquid) and hot rice cakes with almonds and honey. I was in heaven.

My friend Jin lives in Seoul and was kind enough to take us on an afternoon tour of Gwangjang Market. It was so chilly, we could see our breath, but this made the hot noodles and scallion pancakes taste even better!
